The Barren Edge

That barren edge of life and love…

I’m on a cliff
Staring over the edge
All I see is black—
With no end in sight

If I should fall
I would float
Upon the air—
Suspended in disbelief.

At least you’re truthful
But I never said,
“I wouldn’t love a lie.”
So please, lie on me.

I walk the valley of death
Will you walk with me,
Hand in hand ,
Through this barren expanse?

There’s no end to this pit
—This void that fills my heart—
Not without you inside my arms
So, walk with me.

I doodle in my poetry book all over the blank space.  This one has some cool pictures, I might scan them online sometime, but for now you'll have to meet me in person if you want to see them.
